Se está configurando un modelo pedagógico, al menos un discurso alimentado por las discusiones sobre indicadores, valoración de resultados, reclamando el ajuste a un mercado laboral imprevisible, planteando disquisiciones acerca de en qué se diferencia un objetivo de un contenido o de una competencia. En cambio, se devalúan los discursos acerca de temas como las culturas juveniles, cómo ofrecer una cultura que pueda interesar, qué papel tienen los educadores, quiénes son los que fracasan(José Gimeno Sacristán). Las competencias no pueden confundirse con habilidades y destrezas que, por ser simples y mecánicas, son incapaces de afrontar el cambio, la incertidumbre y la complejidad de la vida contemporánea. Colaborar en proyectos culturales, científicos, artísticos o tecnológicos de calidad es la mejor garantía de formación de estas competencias... Este programa requiere, definitivamente, refundar, reinventar la escuela que conocemos (Ángel Pérez Gómez). En definitiva, la satisfacción o insatisfacción que nos reporta la esfera pública termina por influir en nuestra vida privada, acaba por afectar a la intimidad y al sistema de creencias; y viceversa. Por tanto, es necesario el análisis de la relación entre lo público y lo privado, por cuanto esa relación oculta mecanismos de identidad tramposos que impedirá ser competente en ciudadanía (Juan Bautista Martínez Rodríguez). Formar profesionales competentes no es lo mismo que formar con o a través de competencias. La universidad tiene que crear las condiciones para que el alumnado pueda convertirse en un profesional responsable y llegue a ejercer su profesión de una manera competente. Hemos de evitar que el Espacio de la Educación Superior convierta la Europa del Conocimiento en la Europa de las Competencias (José Félix Angulo). Evaluar y calificar-sólo lo que el alumno hace es reducir a lo más superficial su capacidad de aprender y, por tanto, su competencia cognitiva. Si sólo damos por sabido lo que el alumno puede hacer, ni el contexto ni los recursos humanos y materiales disponibles para ese control son satisfactorios porque las competencias tienen un carácter complejo, global y su aplicación no responde a un patrón fijo (Juan Manuel Álvarez Méndez).

The Republic is a Socratic dialogue, written by Plato around 380 BC, concerning the definition of justice, the order and character of the just city-state and the just man-for this reason, ancient readers used the name On Justice as an alternative title (not to be confused with the spurious dialogue also titled On Justice).
