Two ebooks for the price of one! Old flames reunite for a second chance at love in this $4.99 ebook duo from beloved, bestselling author Carolyn Brown and rising star Nicole Helm. Includes an excerpt from Nicole Helm's new holiday romance, True-Blue Cowboy Christmas. Hell, Yeah: Cathy O'Dell has been all over the country, but she never felt at home until she moved into the tiny apartment at the back of the Honky Tonk beer joint. Now she figures she's here to stay, loving every minute of the rowdy crowd, down-home juke box music, and constant pool tournaments. She's a beautiful blonde with big blue eyes and enough sass to make a grown man beg for mercy. Then gorgeous, rich, oil man Travis Henry gets it into his fool head that Cathy deserves a better life—with him, of course—and the sparks start to fly so bad they're like to set fire to the beer joint, if they don't go up in flames themselves first! Outlaw Cowboy: Ever since his father's accident, Caleb promised his older sister that he'd fix his terrible reputation. But when Delia Rogers, the town's baddest of the bad girls, needs his help hiding from the cops, Caleb is torn between his squeaky new image and his outlaw roots. Delia's out of options, so asking her reformed ex for help is her only choice. When a helping hand and seriously close quarters turn into more, Delia can't help but fall all over again...but she has a secret that will ruin everything, unless they're both willing to leave their reputations behind for something much more lasting. Earthy, sexy, and vivacious, the life of beloved country singer, Patsy Cline, who soared from obscurity to international fame to tragic death in just thirty short years, is explored in colorful and poignant detail. An innovator--and even a hell-raiser--Cline broke all the boys' club barriers of Nashville's music business in the 1950s and brought a new Nashville sound to the nation with her pop hits and torch ballads like "Walking After Midnight," "I Fall to Pieces" and "Crazy." She is the subject of a major Hollywood movie and countless articles, and her albums are still selling 45 years after her death. Ellis Nassour was the very first to write about Cline and did so with the cooperation of the stars who knew and loved her--including Jimmy Dean, Jan Howard, Brenda Lee, Loretta Lynn, Roger Miller, Dottie West, and Faron Young. He was the only writer to interview Cline's mother and husbands. This updated edition features not only a complete discography and a host of never-before-published photographs, but includes an afterword that details controversial claims about her birth, the battle between Cline's siblings for her possessions, the amazing influence Cline had on a new generation of singers and, in Cline's own words from letters to a devoted friend, her excitement as her career soared to new heights and her marriage descended to new depths.

NOW THE BASIS OF THE NEW SERIES ON SUNDANCETV. Only Hap and Leonard would catch a cold case with hot cars, hot women, and ugly skinheads. The story starts simply enough when Hap, a former 60s activist and self-proclaimed white trash rebel, and Leonard, a tough black, gay Vietnam vet and Republican with an addiction to Dr. Pepper, are working a freelance surveillance job in East Texas. The uneventful stakeout is coming to an end when the pair witness a man abusing his dog. Leonard takes matters into his own fists, and now the bruised dog abuser wants to press charges. One week later, a woman named Lilly Buckner drops by their new PI office with a proposition: find her missing granddaughter, or she'll turn in a video of Leonard beating the dog abuser. The pair agrees to take on the cold case and soon discover that the used car dealership where her granddaughter worked is actually a front for a prostitution ring. What began as a missing-person case becomes one of blackmail and murder. Filled with Lansdale's trademark whip-smart dialogue, relentless pacing, and unorthodox characters, Honky Tonk Samurai is a rambunctious thrill ride by one hell of a writer.

This book is the account of the author's eight and a half years of prosecuting for the State of Alabama. The reader will meet the prosecutors, (the "white hats) the defense attorney's, (the black hats) as well as the cops, the detectives and the bad men and blood spillers that plague our society. The book is not bereft of humor, with the reader being introduced to the court hangers on who are present in various incarnations in every jurisdiction in the country. The authour recounts some of the many cases that he tried and a few that were tried by other prosecutors. It is a fascinating account of people at their best and at their very worst. All in all, it is a terrific read that is absolutely true but reads like the best of crime fiction.

Velvet is about to breathe her last and doesn't even know it when Patrick O'Leary lays her on the bed in a very strange house. When she does awake from a fever-induced coma, she finds herself in a cabin with Dr. Hoyt Baxter, who's hateful, mean and spiteful and doesn't care if she lives or dies, so long as she's out of his house and his life as soon as possible. Which is exactly what Velvet wants, but she has to have the strength to walk out the door before she can actually do it. Hoyt had stopped practicing medicine a year before, vowing he'd never be a doctor again, but when it came right down to the wire, he did bring Velvet Jane Dulan back to life, a choice he would live to regret for many weeks. She interfered with his self-imposed hermitship. She shook the rut he'd been living in all the way to the roots. He just wanted her to be gone, but every plan he made to get rid of her backfired, and he found himself stuck with the unwanted woman. Until finally he realized that he did want her to stay. However, it was too late. Or was it?

The Irish are hardheaded so Elspeth Hamilton doesn't like them. The Mexicans are hotheaded so likewise, she doesn't think much of them either. Since Rebels burned her family home, killing both her parents in the Chambersburg, Pennsylvania fire, it stands to reason she surely doesn't waste affection on Rebels. Colum Sullivan is all three: Irish, Mexican and Rebel. It would take an utter absence of sanity and total absolution of all the past to fall in love with Colum. The English are a stiff-necked lot so Colum doesn't like Ellie. The Yankees are a cold-blooded bunch so likewise he doesn't like her. All he's going to do is rescue her and then light a shuck back to Texas. But an early blizzard in the mountains of Southern Pennsylvania turns his plans around abruptly. Colum admires the lady but that's as far as it's going because it's absolutely the wrong time in the century for the likes of a lady like Ellie Hamilton and a man like Colum Sullivan to get together. Those kinds of miracles only happen once in a lifetime, and his sister Douglass and her new husband Monroe have already captured that miracle.
