They are looking for somewhere they can once again call home. In a place of standing stones – an ancient landscape in a country on the brink of change – a shocking accident causes their lives to intertwine. Tangled together in threads of guilt and love, with Scotland rushing towards a referendum and the community around them fracturing, each must question where they truly belong. And, as the ground beneath their feet begins to give up its secrets, and the darkness Justine fled grows close, each must also find a way to face their ghosts.

David Mason walked across Australia because no-one else had done it. He did it on is own with no support crew. After his experiences in the French Foreign Legion it was at once a challenge and a way to reconnect with life, people and Australia. In taking on the challenge he sought to raise funds for the Fred Hollows Foundation. David sought to demonstrate that in taking on challenges we live, rather than taking the easy way out and instead, live lives of quiet desperation. David was the first person to walk across Australia at its widest point. In the course of that expedition he also was the first recorded person to walk solo east-west across the Simpson Desert and its 1100 dunes. For this achievement he was named Australia’s Adventurer of the Year and awarded the Gold Medal of the Australian Geographic Society.

A new novel by a noted author of science, philosophy and religion with its subplot set in first century China when massive walls were built for protection against Mongolian hordes and alliances were sought with the mushrooming Roman Empire far to the west. An ancient legend suggested the abduction of the Christ child by an ambitious Chinese ambassador, an early traveler, who replaced him in the manger with his own twin son. Influenced by the messianic prophesy, his mission was to return to China with the secret of Roman success and the potential for Chinese superiority. Following his brother's crucifixion and burial, the second twin was mistaken for resurrection. With similar previously undisclosed events in first century Judaea an historical account was contained in the controversial Book of Chan, hidden in the Great Wall for two thousand years. The location was inscribed in a set of Chinese seals with sculptured ivory handles since scattered among world collectors of sigillography. Two Harvard and Oxford professors, meeting on an Oriental cruise, teamed up in search of the legendary book but encountered very rough competition from religious agents determined to prevent disclosure. Amidst touches of romance they uncovered a unique culture at the conflux of the Great Wall and Silk Road. Finding a number of the ancient seals, including several that later had been carried to Venice by the Marco Polo entourage, the academic couple succeeded in computer analysis producing a usable matrix map. Written in the genre of The DaVinci Code, the book includes an important philosophical addendum on the search for greater realism in biblical understanding that strongly influenced the creation of this unique and somewhat controversial story. Proof readers see it as a best seller and the next major "Hollywod Project".

Unknown to Trong, scouts had reported increased American activity to the southeast of the camp, which possibly meant the Americans were moving into the area. Every precaution had been taken to ensure that the camp was not taken by surprise. Patrols were sent out daily. Observation posts were placed well forward of the camp, and fighting positions around the camp were manned at all times. Trong checked his equipment one more time as he waited for the Americans. He slid the bolt back on his Soviet-made AK-47, making sure that a round was chambered. Next, he checked the green plastic American-made detonator, which was attached to the Chinese claymore mine located thirty meters from his position. He thought himself ready and tried to fight the panic that assailed his mind. He thought of what his section leader had told him. “Wait until the Americans are close to the mine before detonating it. Then use your rifle to kill any of the Americans that are left alive.” Chester Porter was born and raised in Texas. He was drafted into the Army in 1967 and served with the 196th Light Infantry Brigade. In 1968 he was transferred to the 199th Light Infantry Brigade. In 1982 he became a Federal Law Enforcement Officer for the Department of Interior, US Fish and Wildlife Service. He retired from federal service in 2005 after twenty-nine years of government service. Porter lives today, outside of Savannah Georgia in the small town of Rincon.

Prostitution has been legal in Rhode Island for more than a decade; Liam Mulligan, an old-school investigative reporter at dying Providence newspaper, suspects the governor has been taking payoffs to keep it that way. But this isn't the only story making headlines...a child's severed arm is discovered in a pile of garbage at a pig farm. Then the body of an internet pornographer is found sprawled on the rocks at the base of Newport's famous Cliff Walk. At first, the killings seem random, but as Mulligan keeps digging into the state's thriving sex business, strange connections emerge. Promised free sex with hookers if he minds his own business—and a beating if he doesn't—Mulligan enlists Thanks-Dad, the newspaper publisher's son, and Attila the Nun, the state's colorful Attorney General, in his quest for the truth. What Mulligan learns will lead him to question his beliefs about sexual morality, shake his tenuous religious faith, and leave him wondering who his real friends are. Cliff Walk is at once a hard-boiled mystery and an exploration of sex and religion in the age of pornography. Written with the unique and powerful voice that won DeSilva an Edgar Award for Best First Novel, Cliff Walk lifts Mulligan into the pantheon of great suspense heroes and is a giant leap for the career of Bruce DeSilva.
