Lights! Camera! ACTION! Lulu in Honolulu A Screenplay by Lulu Harrison SCENE 1: ZOOM IN on Hollywood mega stars LINC and FIONA HARRISON lounging on the beach with their daughters LULU and ALEXIS— CUT! If only real life were like the movies. Instead, the Harrison family's fabulous Hawaiian vacation has fallen apart, thanks to Lulu's parents' massive blockbuster film shoot. Their tightly-scheduled family time has been taken over by extra time on the set—and they're totally missing out on the real Hawaii. Lulu decides to teach her family the meaning of ohana, but her genius plans are seriously backfiring. (She didn't mean to unleash a rampaging pug onto her parents' movie set. Oops!) Can Lulu get her family back together, or will her exploits push them further apart? Praise for Lulu in La La Land: "Fun, infectious humor and satisfying, light storytelling."—School Library Journal

In the tradition of The Devil Wears Prada comes Rosie Nixon's debut novel, which follows a young woman who is thrown into the fast-paced world of fashion and glamour as she’s forced to navigate the treacherous Hollywood red carpets…while finding a fairytale love of her own. “A stylish, fun read, I absolutely loved it!”—Jackie Collins Amber Green loves working at Smith’s, London’s ultra-exclusive boutique frequented by everyone who’s anyone, including Mona Armstrong, the stylist to the stars. She is fierce, demanding, and can make or break a career with a snap of her manicured nails. When Mona’s latest assistant walks out and with awards season arriving faster than you can say “Rodeo Drive”, Amber finds herself agreeing to work for one of the most infamous—and volatile—women in Hollywood. And the stars aren’t much better. Amber’s life is turned inside out as she becomes familiar with all Hollywood has to offer, on and off the red carpet. As she begins to enjoy life in the dressing rooms of the hottest stars, Amber discovers she’s the one in the spotlight when she catches the attention of two very different men. But Mona’s behavior is growing increasingly erratic and unless Amber can out-style everyone in Hollywood, she’s in danger of being Mona’s latest fashion victim.

"A rare find in ancient Hawaiian literature, a Hawaiian composition not only rich in its poetic power but an authentic source of information concerning pre-European Hawaiian religion, mythology, and way of life... Beckwith rightly compares it to the Greek creation chants and Genesis in the Bible." --Pacific Islands Monthly The Kumulipo is the sacred creation chant of a family of Hawaiian alii, or ruling chiefs. Composed and transmitted entirely in the oral tradition, its 2000 lines provide an extended genealogy proving the family's divine origin and tracing the family history from the beginning of the world.

Genetic programming (GP) is a systematic, domain-independent method for getting computers to solve problems automatically starting from a high-level statement of what needs to be done. Using ideas from natural evolution, GP starts from an ooze of random computer programs, and progressively refines them through processes of mutation and sexual recombination, until high-fitness solutions emerge. All this without the user having to know or specify the form or structure of solutions in advance. GP has generated a plethora of human-competitive results and applications, including novel scientific discoveries and patentable inventions. This unique overview of this exciting technique is written by three of the most active scientists in GP. See www.gp-field-guide.org.uk for more information on the book.

This book is unique in that it not only discusses the internal decay and the external disasters which threaten the life of American people (in fact, of ALL the people), but diagnoses the growing cancer of which they are merely the symptoms. Going behind the iron curtain of propaganda, censorship and deception, the author, former Colonel of the Military Intelligence Service, gives to the reader the first comprehensive documented account of the origin, the scope, and the intentions of the "insidious forces working from within," which are seeking to destroy Western civilization. "An honest and courageous dispeller of the fog of propaganda in which most minds seem to dwell." - Lt. General P. A. Del Valle, USMC (ret.) "I think it ought to be compulsory reading in every public school in America." - Senator William A. Langer, former Chairman, Judiciary Committee "This book is a magnificent contribution to those who would preserve our American ideals." - Lt. Gen. Edward M. Almond, USA (ret.)

How many place names are there in the Hawaiian Islands? Even a rough estimate is impossible. Hawaiians named taro patches, rocks, trees, canoe landings, resting places in the forests, and the tiniest spots where miraculous events are believed to have taken place. And place names are far from static--names are constantly being given to new houses and buildings, streets and towns, and old names are replaced by new ones. It is essential, then, to record the names and the lore associated with them now, while Hawaiians are here to lend us their knowledge. And, whatever the fate of the Hawaiian language, the place names will endure. The first edition of Place Names of Hawaii contained only 1,125 entries. The coverage is expanded in the present edition to include about 4,000 entries, including names in English. Also, approximately 800 more names are included in this volume than appear in the second edition of the Atlas of Hawaii.
