Together they mean to muster the power of the Senate and leverage the arcane knowledge of the Academy's Archives. Once in the city, however, they discover the situation is already dire. A rash of disappearances among highborn men and the resurgence of old heresies suggest that Tal'Shik's godsworn have already infiltrated the city. When Veiko is added to the ranks of the missing, Snow is done waiting. She brokers a deal with a rival god to get the power she needs to stop Tal'Shik. But Snow has never been good at making bargains, and this deal is going to cost her....

The Illhari Republic rests on the bones of gods, telling tales of conquest and forgetting its once-bloody devotion to its most powerful goddess. Snowdenaelikk, half-blood conjuror and smuggler, cares less about history than the silver she can win with sharp metal and sharper wits. But when the local legion blames her for burning a village, an outlander with a sense of honor intervenes, and Snow finds herself tangled in politics and an unwelcome partnership. Snow and her new partner, Veiko, together with the legion scout Dekklis, uncover a conspiracy that will destroy the Republic from within. It seems that the goddess is back from wherever dead gods go. She has not forgotten the Republic, and she wants revenge. Loyal Dekklis will do anything to save the Republic, and Snow reluctantly agrees to help--until she realizes that "anything" means sacrificing Veiko. Now Snow must decide whether her partner's life is worth betraying her allies and damning the Republic to war.

Ben Flood, marshall of the small town of Burnt Rock in post-Civil War Texas, comes face-to-face with an old nemesis when a marauding band of thieves robs the local bank. Zeb Stone, hardened and full of rage toward his arch enemy, kidnaps the strong-willed rancher Lee Morgan to lure the marshall into danger. Determined to re-create his first gunfight with Flood, Stone leads his pursuer through the parched desert of south Texas and into LaRosa, Mexico. Meanwhile Lee, an expert horsewoman, makes her escape and pairs up with Flood on his quest to settle the twenty-year feud. The marshall knows there will be no turning back, but he wonders-is this duel just part of his job, or has he allowed it to become a vendetta against the man who killed his father? What he discovers about himself, his faith, and his growing feelings for Lee will delight fans of romance and adventure alike. The Long Road to LaRosa is the second in a masterfully written western romance series and continues the fine standard set in the first release, Stallions at Burnt Rock, for memorable characters, a well-woven story, and vivid, true-to-life detail about life in the Wild West.

Fifty years after James Bruce brought a copy of the Book of Enoch, found in Ethiopia, to England, Richard Laurence made a first modern translation. Later, R.H. Charles made another translation using some Greek excerpts, and more Ethiopian texts. Then recently, Michael A Knibb, using many texts, and partial texts, put together an ?adequate' translation. Yet, all of these translations are rough, obscure, and confusing to Christians of today. The Dead Sea Scrolls contained many copies and partial copies of the Book of Enoch, In the Dead Sea scrolls, there were found 17 copies. Comparitively, there were 30 copies of Psalms, 25 copies of Deuteronomy, 19 of Isaiah, 15 of Genesis and Exodus, 14 Of Jubilees. Jude validated The Book Of Enoch with his quote from it. Using all of the sources now available, along with an in-depth study of book, I have prepared this paraphrase/translation. Along with such, I have included an commentary to help in its comparison with the Bible. John D. Ladd was raised the son of an Assemblies of God pastor. He attended Northeast Bible College, in Pennsylvania, and later, Malone College, in Canton, Ohio. He pastored for many years, was ordained in the Assemblies of God, but later left to pastor independent churches. Preferring teaching to preaching, he has spent many years studying, reading books from the early church period, and translating\paraphrasing them for ease of use by Christians of today. This book of Enoch's has been translated, paraphrased, and now is being given commentary, to compare it with the Bible's message, to test it by the Word of God. How does it compare? Is it in agreement with the message and prophetic teachings of the Bible?

Secret Bankside Walks in the Outlaw Borough

On the south bank of the Thames, outside the jurisdiction of the ancient City of London, Bankside has long been known as a hotbed of creativity, dissent and loose living. With its brothels and bear-pits, its prisons and its pubs, the area has inspired the nation's greatest writers - Chaucer, Shakespeare, Dickens, Keats and Blake - and been home to its most famous theatres - the Globe, The Rose, The Old Vic and the National. These same south London streets have given sanctuary to immigrants and refugees, to tradesmen, craftsmen and Thames Watermen, to the workhouse poor and the criminal underclass. Writer, performer and local historian John Constable is well known for his walks around this fascinating area. The eight walks collected here are among his most popular. Packed with social history and local lore, they are witty, insightful and hugely entertaining. Each walk is easy to follow, accompanied by maps and clear directions, and illustrated with period prints and contemporary photographs. Together, they tell the extraordinary and, until recently, largely forgotten story of London's anarchic, irrepressible 'Outlaw Borough'.
