This two-volume work presents a summary and review of the current state of lobster biology, ecology, physiology, behavior, and management. It emphasizes the biology of clawed lobsters (Nephropidae) and spiny lobsters (Palinuridae), with attention also given to slipper lobsters (Scyllaridae) and coral lobsters (Synaxidae). The crustaceans are ecologically and economically important organisms. They constitute one of the dominant invertebrate groups on earth, particularly within the aquatic realm. This report was made by the Fisheries Resource Conservation Council (FRCC) in response to the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans request to review the 1995 Conservation Framework for Atlantic Lobster.
